Former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign will become the first in history for either major political party to begin accepting cryptocurrency donations.
Trump’s team announced the new fundraising methods in an emailed press release on Tuesday. Here’s what donors can do: To contribute Donate “any cryptocurrency accepted through the Coinbase Commerce product” to the campaign’s joint fundraising committee.
Coinbase Note Coinbase Commerce accepts hundreds of different forms of cryptocurrency for transferring funds.
“This joins President Trump’s already groundbreaking digital fundraising efforts and marks the first time a major party presidential candidate has embraced cryptocurrency for donations,” the campaign said.
The announcement touted Trump’s record of championing innovation and deregulation and contrasted him with President Joe Biden and Democrats who “continue to believe that only government has the answers for how our country should lead the world.”

On Wednesday, the day after announcing its fundraising website, the campaign launched its nightly newsletter, “Palm Beach Playbook.”
“Palm Beach Playbook provides news and exclusive updates on President Trump’s historic campaign,” Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement to Breitbart News. “Through this email newsletter, we will tell voters who are fed up with a weak Joe Biden and the fake news media the truth about President Trump’s America First policies.”
