Former President Donald Trump has caught up with Vice President Kamala Harris in the latest NBC poll released Sunday. Mr. Trump is tied with Ms. Harris at 48%, and leads the “expanded vote” with third-party candidates by a margin of 47% to 46%.
With just three weeks until Election Day, polls show that Harris' approval rating is declining while Trump's popularity is increasing.

A new poll conducted between October 4 and 8 shows that in a head-to-head race, Harris had the support of 48% of registered voters, while Trump had a tie with 48%. Another 4% say they are undecided or would not vote for either option if they were forced to choose between candidates from these two major parties.
This is a change from a September NBC News poll that showed Ms. Harris leading Mr. Trump by 5 points, 49% to 44%, although within the margin of error.
Expanded voting to include third-party candidates also shows this shift, with the new poll showing 47% of registered voters backing Trump and 46% backing Harris, for a total of 7%. He said he is undecided whether to choose another candidate.
NBC attributed the shift to a return of Republican voters to Trump and a flurry of positive media coverage in the first few weeks after Harris formally entered the race in late July. He suggests that this is due to a decline in popularity.
Harris' net favorability rating was +3% in September, but it has fallen to -6% in the latest poll. President Trump's net favorability rating rose from -13% in September to -8% in October.
