Trump cautions against a 10-year prison term for anyone damaging D.C.'s Reflecting Pool

Vandalism of D.C. Reflecting Pool Leads to Severe Sentencing

In a recent statement, President Donald Trump announced that individuals who allegedly vandalized the newly refurbished reflecting pool in Washington, D.C., could face a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

On Truth Social, Trump highlighted the seriousness of such vandalism, noting that it can result in lengthy prison terms that will be fully served.

“Remember, the destruction or attempted destruction of such property is punishable by 10 years in prison. That sentence will be served in full,” he stated.

According to federal law, damaging national monuments can lead to significant penalties, including a decade behind bars.

“Among the many statues and fountains that were rebuilt, renovated, cleaned, and repaired, only the reflecting pool was destroyed. It will be repaired as soon as possible,” Trump mentioned.

“A 300-foot-long gash was made, chemicals were illegally dumped into the water, and the beautiful new grass field was destroyed with a giant chemically carved 86 47 (probably inspired by James Comey in Dirty Cop!),” he added.

The numbers “86 47” were recently found carved into the grounds of the National Mall. The term “86” is often used to mean “remove,” while “47” likely refers to the 47th. Many have interpreted the president’s remarks as possibly hinting at violence directed towards him.

The renovation of the reflecting pool was part of a wider effort by the Trump administration to enhance the appearance of national monuments and the capital. Trump noted that several arrests had been made concerning the vandalism.

Reports indicate that U.S. Park Police have established 14 police reports, issued several federal citations, and made multiple arrests regarding incidents at the reflecting pool.

“A total of 14 police reports were filed…including an unidentified person’s report that claimed Mr. Trump used a knife to ‘inflict a 250-foot-long gash on the beautiful facade,'” a local media outlet reported.

Despite these developments, Trump labeled the vandals as “sick and deranged people,” emphasizing that repairs would commence immediately.
