On Wednesday, undocumented immigrant Jose Ibarra was found guilty on all charges in the murder of Georgia nursing student Riley and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Immediately after the verdict was read, Trump shared his thoughts with Truth Social and X.

“Justice for Laken Riley!” Trump wrote. “The illegal alien who murdered our beloved Laken Riley has been sentenced on all charges for his horrific crime. The pain and heartbreak will last forever, but this is the last time we fought for justice. We hope it brings peace and closure to her wonderful family and that no other family has to go through something like this. We love you, Laken, and our hearts will always be with you. We stand with you. It's time to secure our borders and rid our country of criminals and thugs so something like this never happens again!”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) sued X to celebrate the ruling. She blamed the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration and said Democrats were responsible for Riley's death.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R-Ga.) issued a statement saying Ybarra “never” should have been allowed into the country in the first place.

“Open borders policy failed Laken Riley,” he said.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) reposted the video of Ybarra's conviction. He commented, “Justice has been served.”
