President-elect Donald Trump also joined the conversation about continuing sightings of mysterious, unidentified drones, calling on the government to “shoot down the drones.”

In a joint statement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the agencies said: said “At this time, there is no evidence that the reported drone sightings pose a threat to national security or public safety or have foreign ties,” they said.
“The FBI, DHS, and our federal partners are working closely with the New Jersey State Police to investigate this situation and determine whether the reported drone flight is actually a drone, a manned aircraft, or any other inaccurate sighting. “We continue to deploy personnel and technology to verify this information,” the FBI and DHS added in a statement.
The Pentagon also previously denied claims by New Jersey Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R) that the drones were coming from an Iranian mothership off the U.S. East Coast.
“At this time, there is no evidence that these activities are the work of a foreign entity or adversary,” Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said. “We will continue to monitor what is happening, but our facilities were not threatened while this activity was occurring.”
