Trump claims El-Sayed is definitely a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and radical

President Donald Trump recently issued a warning to voters in Michigan about Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, suggesting he has links to the Muslim Brotherhood, as the midterm elections approach in less than a month.

In a brief video he shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump referred to El-Sayed in a somewhat derogatory manner, calling him “Mohammed El-Sayed,” and stated, “To the people of Michigan, this guy is bad news.”

“He’s a Muslim radical; he’s a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, despite his denials. Just look at his past communications,” Trump stated. “We can’t risk having him in the United States Senate.”

El-Sayed has repeatedly denied any links between himself or his family and the Egyptian Islamist group, although some of his sister’s past social media posts seem to contradict this. For instance, Eman Abdelhadi, an assistant professor, tweeted in June 2012 that her family has been involved with the Muslim Brotherhood and later expressed support for them in another tweet from July 2013.

In a recent appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” El-Sayed rejected these claims, firmly stating, “I have no ties; we have no ties.”

On the same day, Trump expressed his support for Mike Rogers, his favored candidate and former U.S. Representative. He described Rogers as someone committed to the notion of making America great again, contrasting him with El-Sayed, whom he accused of wanting to lead the country back into difficult times.

“We have someone who’s great: Mike Rogers,” Trump asserted. “Whereas Mohammed is about making America terrible like it was just two years ago. We’ve gone from dark times to a golden age. Let’s keep it that way. Don’t vote for Mohammed El-Sayed; he’s not for us, and he hates our country.”

During a recent Senate debate, Rogers had similarly charged El-Sayed with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, which escalated tensions both on and off camera, according to the debate’s moderator. El-Sayed attempted to counter by making personal critiques of Rogers, including comments about his wealth.

After the debate, Trump took to Truth Social to declare that Rogers had “completely obliterated” El-Sayed, whom he labeled a “Jihadist lunatic.”

“He’s a Muslim Brotherhood guy, 100%,” Trump reiterated during a lunch in the White House Rose Garden on Thursday. “Just imagine him on the Senate Intelligence Committee. The guy is entirely affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.”
