Trump Claims “Perfect Health” in New Report
As 2026 begins, former President Donald Trump has made headlines by stating he has received a clean bill of health from the White House physician.
“The White House doctors have informed me that I am in ‘perfect health’ and that I thoroughly ‘passed’—meaning I answered all questions correctly—three cognitive tests that none of my predecessors wanted to take,” Trump mentioned in a post. He also expressed a belief that anyone aspiring for the presidency or vice presidency should undergo comprehensive cognitive testing. “Our wonderful nation can’t be governed by ‘stupid’ or incompetent individuals!”
Approaching his 80th birthday in June, Trump has faced intensified scrutiny concerning his health, with recent interviews focusing on this topic. He revealed to a major newspaper that he regretted having had advanced imaging tests done last October, suggesting it unnecessarily fueled doubts about his well-being. “Looking back, I’m sorry I did it because it just gave them more ammunition,” he said, adding that the incident made him question his health status unnecessarily.
During those October tests, he underwent various scans, which the president’s physician, Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbavera, confirmed were part of an “ongoing health maintenance plan.” In a memo to the White House press secretary, Barbavera wrote that Trump continues to show good overall health and maintains a demanding daily schedule without limitations.
At a recent press conference, a summary read out by the press secretary indicated that the imaging exams were conducted as a precaution, emphasizing the need for thorough evaluations for individuals in Trump’s age group. All major organs were reported as healthy, and the imaging results were deemed completely normal.
Despite this positive feedback, Trump insists that the growing attention on his health is unjustified. According to reports, some close to him noted that he had started to speak more loudly in meetings, hinting at potential hearing difficulties. Furthermore, there have been mentions of him seeming to doze off at certain public events, a claim he has denied vehemently.
In a light-hearted approach, Trump stated that he enjoys closing his eyes during events, attributing it to relaxation and suggesting that photographs sometimes catch him mid-blink rather than asleep.
Concerns over health were significant during the previous presidential election cycle, particularly revolving around then-President Joe Biden. Trump has frequently claimed that Biden conceals the severity of his health issues from the public. Scrutiny around Biden increased due to his limited press interactions and challenges during unscripted moments, especially following his performance in a debate against Trump in 2024, where he appeared to struggle for words.
The White House has yet to comment on the recent developments.
