Trump Claims Iran's Nuclear Facilities Are Completely Destroyed

Trump Announces Major Strike on Iran’s Nuclear Sites

In a speech at the White House on Saturday night, President Donald Trump declared that the U.S. had executed a “large precision strike” aimed at eradicating Iran’s three main nuclear enrichment facilities. He noted that these sites were “completely and completely wiped out.”

Trump was flanked by key military leaders, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while making his announcement. This came shortly after a post on his platform, Truth Social, stated that U.S. forces had conducted a military operation targeting Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz—three sites associated with uranium enrichment. This strike followed Israel’s earlier declaration of a military initiative called “The Rising Operation,” which targeted Iran’s nuclear developments deemed illegal.

During his address, Trump insisted that the U.S. military was solely responsible for the destruction, elaborating on why the Israeli Defense Force had not engaged. He expressed gratitude towards the nation’s top military leaders for their efforts in the operation.

He referred to the military action as “a massive precision strike against the three key nuclear facilities of the Iranian regime.” He further criticized Iran, asserting that it had been a significant threat for years, and emphasized the operation’s objective to eliminate the nuclear threat posed by a country he labeled as the world’s “number one national sponsor” of terrorism.

“I can report to the world that the strike is an epic military success,” Trump proclaimed, adding that Iran’s main nuclear enrichment facility had been entirely eliminated.

“Iran, a bully in the Middle East, must now seek peace,” he continued, implying that failure to do so would result in even larger and more efficient military responses in the future.

Trump highlighted the long history of hostility from Iran, mentioning their threats against America and Israel, as well as attacks on U.S. soldiers. He stated, “We have lost over 1,000 people and hundreds of thousands harmed across the Middle East and beyond.”

The president expressed a hope that further military action would be unnecessary and stated that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran “cannot continue.” He warned that without peace, the situation could escalate into something far more serious and indicated that many targets remained if diplomacy failed.

To conclude, Trump expressed gratitude to God and offered blessings for America, Israel, and the global community.

In the backdrop of this military action was a recent rare condemnation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which criticized Iran for breaching international laws on nuclear development. The organization had issued a resolution urging Iran to limit its uranium enrichment, which they believe exceeds what is necessary for civilian purposes. The IAEA’s director raised concerns about secret nuclear facilities that Iran might be operating in a bid to conceal their activities.

In response to the IAEA resolution, Iran announced plans for a new uranium enrichment site, coinciding with Israel’s military operations.

Following Israel’s initial strike, Iranian officials agreed to engage in discussions with representatives from the remaining signatories of the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)—Germany, France, and the UK. The intent was to encourage Iran to resume negotiations with the U.S., which had previously stalled after several unsuccessful rounds under the Trump administration. Mediated discussions with Oman have faced hurdles due to Iran’s insistence on lifting all sanctions and unwillingness to accept limits on uranium enrichment.
