Trump claims Jeffrey Epstein 'took' Mar-a-Lago staff before property prohibition.

President Donald Trump elaborated on his previous claims of expelling Jeffrey Epstein from his Florida estate, stating that he confronted Epstein over “doing something inappropriate” many years prior to Epstein’s arrest. Trump spoke to reporters on Tuesday while preparing to board Air Force One in Scotland, detailing how Epstein, who once worked at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, had crossed boundaries by “taking employees,” which ultimately led to their fallout.

“He brought people there,” Trump recounted. “I told him, ‘Stop that; they’re under my employ.’ He ignored me and took it further. That was the end for him.” It seems that, according to Trump, Epstein’s actions were what triggered his ban from Mar-a-Lago.

Their relationship reportedly soured in 2004, following a bankruptcy auction in which Trump outbid Epstein for a coastal estate, as mentioned by Palm Beach Post. Two years after that, Epstein was arrested for soliciting prostitution, which, to some, seemed a long time coming. Trump remarked that Epstein had attracted several young women who worked at the spa at Mar-a-Lago, adding, “I think she worked there; he took her. Just to clarify, she never raised any complaints about us, so, you know, just putting that out there.”

The White House has not responded to inquiries for clarification on Trump’s statements. Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell has asked the Supreme Court to overturn her conviction on the basis that she was mistakenly excluded from a previous immunity deal concerning Epstein. Giuffre, who passed away in March, had long been an advocate for justice against Epstein.

Trump also mentioned, nearly in passing, that he was invited to Epstein’s infamous island but chose to decline, saying, “I didn’t want to go.” This little anecdote emerges amidst ongoing discussions about the impact of Epstein’s actions and his network.

Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence for her involvement in Epstein’s activities, has recently been called to testify regarding the extent of Epstein’s crimes. However, her legal team insists they will only cooperate if granted immunity, a request that has been dismissed by committee officials. The Supreme Court is expected to address Maxwell’s appeal efforts soon, sparking further debates about the justice system and its treatment of those involved in such high-profile cases.
