Trump Claims Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon Might Lose Their Late-Night Shows: 'They're Next'

Trump Suggests Colbert’s Cancellation Could Signal Trouble for Other Late-Night Hosts

President Donald Trump has indicated that Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel might experience a fate similar to Stephen Colbert’s recent cancellation.

During a White House press conference, Trump was questioned by reporter Brian Glenn about Colbert’s cancellation as well as the future of Howard Stern’s show on SiriusXM.

“Is the ‘Trump Trump’ business model gaining traction in entertainment, or are you concerned it isn’t popular with Americans?” Glenn asked.

“Honestly, it’s not working,” Trump replied. “It hasn’t worked for a long time. I’ve felt this way from the start. Colbert lacks talent. I mean, I could go out to the streets right now and find people who could do a similar job and likely get better ratings than he does. He really has no talent.”

“As for Fallon and Kimmel, they’re next. They’re going, I don’t know when exactly, but I suspect it’s coming. Colbert has slightly better ratings than those two,” he added.

Last month, CBS announced Colbert’s show cancellation, which they labeled a “financial decision,” according to reports from Breitbart News.

“Stephen Colbert will retire from the Late Show franchise in May 2026,” an executive stated, emphasizing that this decision had nothing to do with the show’s performance, content, or any issues related to Paramount.

The announcement followed Colbert’s criticism of a $16 million settlement involving Trump, which he labeled a “big fat bribe” regarding Skydance’s merger. Some commentators perceived the cancellation as politically motivated, noting that Colbert was forfeiting around $40 million annually while employing a staff of 200. Trump, however, celebrated the news of Colbert’s cancellation.

“I’m really pleased that Colbert is finished. He simply wasn’t talented enough for the ratings he received. And Kimmel? Even less talent than Colbert!” Trump remarked.

In response to Trump’s comments, Colbert didn’t hold back, telling the president to “take a hike.”
