Trump Claims Kamala's Campaign Violated the Law by Compensating Beyoncé and Oprah

Trump Accuses Kamala Harris of Illegal Payments to Celebrities

Former President Donald Trump has made claims against former Vice President Kamala Harris, alleging that she broke laws regarding payments made to celebrities like Beyoncé and Oprah Winfrey for their endorsements.

In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his frustration over the large sums of money that Democrats owe after the 2024 presidential election. He suggested that these payments might be illegal.

Trump’s post stated:

After the presidential election, we see the huge amount of money the Democrats owe, possibly illegally, like that $11 million they paid to singer Beyoncé (she’s never sung much, in my opinion!). There’s not much else to discuss when it comes to what others are doing!

He further commented, “Errors in books and records lead to outrageous discrepancies in reporting.”

“You can’t pay for endorsements,” he added. “That’s completely illegal. Just imagine the chaos if politicians started paying people to support them! It would be utter madness! Kamala and the others who took the money broke the law. They should be held accountable!”

A report from the Washington Examiner noted that Harris’ campaign had indeed paid Winfrey’s company $1 million on October 15th.

Interestingly, reports in November 2024 revealed that Winfrey had denied receiving such payment from the Harris campaign. She had appeared with Harris in a town hall-style interview on television and attended a rally in Philadelphia right before the election.

Wealthy icon Oprah Winfrey joined Kamala Harris for a town hall-style interview in September, and made an appearance at a rally in Philadelphia before the election, where she controversially suggested she could be indifferent toward voting.

The Harris campaign has also refuted claims of payment to Beyoncé for her endorsement, though Federal Election Commission records confirm a payment of $165,000 related to Beyoncé’s producer.

Moreover, financial documents show that Harris’ campaign, which had amassed $20 million in liabilities after raising $1 billion, made a $500,000 contribution to the National Action Network (NAN), an organization founded by Al Sharpton, with the payment split into two transactions.

Financial records reveal that President Harris contributed $500,000 to NAN, with payments made on September 5th and October 1st.

Sharpton later offered Harris “softball questions” during an appearance on an MSNBC show.

Trump has called for a comprehensive investigation into whether Harris’ campaign improperly compensated entertainment figures for endorsements, questioning how much she may have paid Harris for her disappointing campaign performance and if any agreements were made.

“I demand a thorough investigation into this matter,” Trump stated in a Truth Social post back in May. “Candidates shouldn’t be paying for endorsements. What Kamala did was disguise payments as entertainment expenses, which seems like a desperate attempt to artificially boost her weak audience numbers.”
