Trump complains he won't receive a Nobel Peace Prize 'no matter what' while worldwide conflicts continue

On Friday, President Trump expressed joy over a new agreement aimed at resolving the conflict between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. However, he also shared his belief that he might not receive the Nobel Peace Prize for this effort or any other international agreements made during his presidency.

The State Department announced that later this week, Rwanda and the Congo will formalize a deal to end hostilities in eastern Congo, where rebels had taken control of the strategic city back in January, accusing Congo of backing Rwanda. The U.S. facilitated the peace talks after a request from Congolese President Felix Tsekedi.

“This is a great day for Africa, and honestly, a great day for the entire world,” Trump stated in a message on True Society, referring to the agreement as a “great treaty.”

Yet, he seemed to acknowledge that he may not receive accolades for this particular achievement, pointing out that ongoing conflicts could overshadow his contributions.

“I won’t get the Nobel Peace Prize for this. I won’t get it for stopping the war between India and Pakistan, nor for resolving issues related to Serbia and Kosovo,” he stated, citing various international conflicts.

Trump’s comments coincided with Pakistan’s announcement that it had nominated him for the Peace Prize, following a ceasefire between India and Pakistan that took place in May, which Trump downplayed.

This nomination marks Trump’s fifth. The individuals eligible to nominate include university professors and members of national assemblies. Previously, there was a diverse range of nominations including well-known personalities like Michael Jackson and organizations like FIFA.

“No matter what I do, whether it’s related to Russia/Ukraine or Israel/Iran, people recognize the Nobel Peace Prize regardless of the outcomes. That matters to me!” Trump remarked.
