Trump confirms inauguration will take place indoors

President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony on January 20th will be held indoors due to weather conditions. According to Friday's announcement at Truth Social.

President Trump's swearing-in ceremony, like all inaugural addresses and speeches, will instead take place inside the Capitol Rotunda on Monday.

“Everyone will be safe, everyone will be happy, and together we will make America great again!”

“It is my duty to protect the people of the United States, but before we begin, I must think about the inauguration itself,” Trump said. “The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., is that temperatures could reach serious record lows, in part due to wind chill. An arctic blast is sweeping the country. I don't want to see that happen in any way.”

The last president to hold his oath of office indoors was Ronald Reagan in 1985 due to the harsh temperatures. President Reagan also took the oath of office inside the Capitol Rotunda, and the inaugural parade was canceled.

“Therefore, in addition to prayers and other speeches, due to the extremely cold weather, I have ordered that the inaugural address be delivered in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, which was used by President Ronald Reagan in 1985,” Trump said. added. “Various dignitaries and guests will be invited to the Capitol. This will be a very beautiful experience for everyone, especially for the large television audience.”

President Trump also announced that Capital One Arena, the venue for Sunday's victory rally, will be open on Monday for live viewing of the inauguration and hosting the presidential parade. After being sworn in, Trump joins the crowd at Capital One.

“Everyone will be safe, everyone will be happy, and together we will make America great again!” Trump said.
