Search for Nancy Guthrie Intensifies
As concerns grow for their missing mother, President Donald Trump reached out to Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC’s “Today,” for a conversation on Wednesday, according to sources. A White House official confirmed the call but didn’t elaborate on what they discussed.
Nancy Guthrie, Savannah’s 84-year-old mother, was reported missing from her home in Arizona, with her last known sighting occurring last Saturday. President Trump had previously extended offers of federal assistance for the ongoing search, indicating he would contact Savannah directly.
During a recent press briefing, Trump expressed his worries, commenting, “I think it’s terrible… This is a very unusual situation, but we will try to figure it out.” He further shared his thoughts on the situation.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department reported that Nancy was last seen at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sheriff Chris Nanos mentioned that details were limited but confirmed they are investigating a crime. Notably, police sources indicated that “drops of blood” were discovered leading from the home’s entrance towards the driveway.
While no suspects or persons of interest have been identified, Sheriff Nanos emphasized the importance of avoiding unverified claims that could hinder the investigation. Authorities are in touch with anyone who may have interacted with Nancy in the days leading to her disappearance.
Interestingly, this call between the president and Savannah comes after their previous confrontations during the 2020 campaign, where they had an intense exchange during a town hall event. Nonetheless, Trump remarked on the cordiality of their relationship, saying, “Savannah and I have always gotten along very well.”
Amid these developments, Savannah is turning to her faith as she navigates this distressing time. On social media, she shared a heartfelt message expressing hope and belief in a collective prayer for her mother. “We believe in prayer… and humanity,” she wrote, urging people to join her in prayer for her mother’s safety.
As the search efforts continue, the family remains hopeful for Nancy’s return, holding onto faith and community support during this difficult period.
