Trump criticizes ABC for ending Vance’s interview with Stephanopoulos

Trump rips ABC over cut-off Vance interview with Stephanopoulos

Trump Criticizes ABC News Following Controversial Interview

President Trump expressed strong discontent with ABC News over an interview that took place last weekend with Vice President Vance.

During the Sunday airing of “This Week,” host George Stephanopoulos ended the discussion abruptly when Vance avoided directly addressing inquiries about bribery allegations related to border czar Tom Homan.

When approached by reporters Tuesday during a meeting with the Argentine president, Trump refused to answer any questions from ABC, pointing to the contentious interview. “After what you did with Mr. Stephanopoulos against the Vice President of the United States, I will not accept questions from ABC Fake News,” he remarked.

In the interview, when Stephanopoulos asked Vance if Homan kept or returned a reported $50,000 bribe, Vance shifted the focus, suggesting the media was unfairly targeting Homan due to his role in law enforcement.

“Instead of focusing on the fact that our country is suffering because of the government shutdown, the government is focusing on bogus stories and insinuating criminal activity against people who have done nothing wrong,” Vance said.

The vice president placed some of the blame for the government shutdown on Democrats and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, indicating that low-income women are struggling to afford food as a result.

As Vance continued, Stephanopoulos interrupted him, seeking to take a break from the discussion.

In a social media post, Vance commented on the situation, highlighting the need to concentrate on genuine issues rather than the “fake scandal” regarding Tom Homan.

Reports suggest that Homan accepted the money from an undercover FBI agent last September, allegedly in exchange for supporting Trump in the event he returns to power.

Trump’s criticism of ABC is not new; he has previously clashed with the network. Recently, he commended ABC for pulling comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s show for a week following complaints from the Federal Communications Commission. Last December, ABC News and Stephanopoulos settled a defamation lawsuit initiated by Trump, which included a public apology and a $15 million fund for Trump’s future presidential library.
