Trump Criticizes Super Bowl Halftime Show Featuring Bad Bunny

President Donald Trump has expressed disappointment over the Super Bowl halftime show, which featured rapper Bad Bunny. He referred to it as “absolutely awful” and claimed it was among “the worst shows ever.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the performance as a “slap in the face” to the American people. He also took issue with Bad Bunny’s use of Spanish during his set, stating, “Nobody can understand a word this guy is saying.”

“The Super Bowl halftime show was truly awful, one of the worst shows ever!” Trump asserted. He went on to criticize the show’s content as contrary to American values of success, creativity, and excellence. He specifically mentioned that the dance routines were inappropriate for young viewers, both in the U.S. and abroad.

“This ‘show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our country, which is achieving new records every day,” Trump added. He pointed out successes like the stock market and questioned the lack of inspiration in the performance. He predicted that the “fake news media” would give it glowing reviews, stating they are out of touch with reality. Trump also suggested that the NFL should re-evaluate its new kickoff rule.

Social media reactions varied, with some users echoing Trump’s sentiments. In a post on X, Megyn Kelly responded to a comment suggesting Bad Bunny had performed well, saying she preferred English-language performances by artists who appreciate America.

Another commenter, John Root, criticized the halftime show for featuring performances in Spanish and waving foreign flags, suggesting it was a political statement. He called Bad Bunny’s act the worst in Super Bowl history, saying Americans deserved better for such a significant anniversary.

Despite the criticism, some praised an alternative halftime show hosted by Turning Point USA, featuring artists like Kid Rock and Gabby Barrett. TPUSA spokesman Andrew Corbett claimed that their national show attracted a substantial audience on YouTube, boasting impressive viewing numbers.

“CK has nearly a million more people on YouTube,” Corbett noted, referencing viewership figures across various platforms.
