In a long post The truth of societyTrump recalled appearing on Oprah Winfrey's talk show with his family in the final week of the show's final episode in 2011.
“A long time ago, Oprah Winfrey asked me to appear on her final network television show. The final week of her show was a big event and it was an honor to appear with my family,” Trump wrote.
Harris' most recent appearance on the show was livestreamed on September 19th.NumberAs a result, a controversial video went viral of Harris saying, “If someone breaks into my house, they will shoot me,” but she quickly retracted the statement, saying, “I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't have said that, but my staff will deal with that later.”
Trump went on to say that he believes Oprah didn't mean what she said during the interview.
“When I watched her interview yesterday with the woman who is destroying America with her utter incompetence, I couldn't help but think that this is not the real Oprah, this is not the person who wants prisons, mental hospitals, terrorists, drug dealers, human traffickers and millions of people from all over the world to come into our country,” Trump continued.
Trump also spoke about the interview at a rally in North Carolina on Saturday, saying Winfrey “didn't know what the hell to do” with regards to Harris' interview.
“Oprah was embarrassed and wanted to hide under the table, but she's a professional and was able to play it off. No, she wanted to get under the table,” he told rally attendees.
Harris appeared on Winfrey's show, drawing more than 300,000 viewers during the livestream, and discussed immigration, abortion, the economy and gun violence.
“Kamala looked really stupid. Couldn't answer the simplest questions about inflation, prices and a very porous and dangerous border. There is no leadership and Oprah just wanted to get under the table! Comrade Kamala Harris is mentally unfit to be President and she knows it and so does everyone else!” Trump added.
Winfrey, who was close to Trump decades ago, endorsed Harris for president at last month's Democratic National Convention, criticising him without directly mentioning him.
“This is a moment for people who are tired of the bickering and the name-calling, who are tired of the insanity and the myths and conspiracies,” she said in a speech at the Democratic National Convention.
“Now is the time, and we want to move on with life because we know we can do better and we deserve better,” she continued.
