Trump demands accountability for Sen. Schiff over supposed mortgage fraud

Trump Accuses Senator Schiff of Mortgage Fraud

Former President Donald Trump has called for Senator Adam Schiff to face trial over alleged mortgage fraud.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Schiff, a Democrat from California, illegally labeled his Maryland home as his primary residence to secure better mortgage terms.

“I’ve always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff is a fraudster,” Trump wrote. “Now, Fannie Mae’s financial crime division believes he’s engaged in a persistent pattern of possible mortgage fraud.”

Trump added that Schiff, while originally from California, sought a cheaper mortgage in Maryland, suggesting he was trying to take advantage of the system. “Mortgage fraud is very serious, and he needs to be brought to trial,” Trump continued.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency has reportedly sent a criminal referral to the Department of Justice for further investigation into the matter.

Trump said, “Every time a senator pays their mortgage, they could be under scrutiny.”

In response, Schiff has denied the allegations, framing them as politically motivated. He stated that this was merely another attempt by Trump to retaliate against his critics.

“Since I first exposed him, I’ve called for Trump to be held accountable. This unfounded claim won’t stop me from doing that,” Schiff claimed. “It’s not surprising that Trump would aim such a weak allegation at a perceived enemy, and it won’t distract from more pressing issues.”

As the situation develops, both parties seem entrenched in their positions, highlighting the ongoing tensions in U.S. politics.
