Trump denies insisting on ‘Home Alone 2’ cameo, says they begged him to do it

Former President Trump this week denied that he had claimed to appear in “Home Alone 2,” saying he was “pleaded” by the producers of the popular holiday movie to appear in the movie.

President Trump: “Thirty years ago (time flies!) director Chris Columbus and others were begging me to do a cameo in “Home Alone 2.'' I have written Wednesday on his Truth Social website.

President Trump praised his role in the film, which was set in scenes at the Plaza Hotel in New York, saying it “took off like a rocket” and credited it with making it a huge hit.

Trump's social media post comes after a 2020 interview with Columbus in which he said, “The only way I can use the Plaza is if I'm in a movie. “That's it,” he said.

“So we agreed to put him in the movie, and the strangest thing happened the first time we showed it. People cheered when Trump appeared on screen.” Columbus told Business Insider at the time. report. “So I said to the editor, 'Please keep him in the movie.' “Nothing could be further from the truth,” President Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
