Trump’s Triumphal Arch Proposal Includes Military Complex

President Donald Trump has revealed plans for his proposed Triumphal Arch in Washington, D.C., which will serve a dual purpose as a high-security military base featuring drones and sniper ammunition. This monument aims to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary and to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the capital.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump explained that the 250-foot arch will not only be a visual landmark but will also accommodate a “top-grade military complex” as requested by the military.

“At the strong request of the United States Military, and for National Security purposes, I have agreed to convert the magnificent Triumphal Arch, planned since the Civil War Era many years ago, at the Receptive Circle adjoining the Arlington Memorial Bridge, into a top-grade Military Complex/Triumphal Arch. It will house, store, and quickly deploy large numbers of drones, plus Snipers, on both the roof and plaza areas, and additionally hold large quantities of sniper ammunition,” Trump stated. “There will be no facility like this anywhere in the world. Out of the 59 top cities and capitals, Washington, D.C., is the only one that lacks a Triumphal Arch, but it will now have the greatest of them all! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

This project, initially proposed in April, is set to begin construction near Arlington National Cemetery. However, some critics have voiced concerns that the monumental structure could obstruct views of significant D.C. sites, as well as Arlington National Cemetery. Additionally, worries have been raised about its proximity to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

Despite these objections, the FAA approved the arch on Friday, stating that it would not endanger incoming or outgoing flights at DCA, according to reports.
