Trump Details ‘Productive’ Trade Talks with Japan, Mexico

“I made a very productive call with the President of Mexico yesterday. Likewise, I met with the highest level Japanese trade representatives. It was a very productive meeting,” Trump wrote. “All countries, including China, want to meet! Today, Italy!”

The meeting between Trump and Japan’s trade representatives will take place on Wednesday, with a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni scheduled for noon at the White House.

With tariffs on his release date, Trump announced a 24% mutual tariff on Japan and a 20% mutual tariff on the European Union. But Trump suspended tariffs in EU, Japan and dozens of other countries for 90 days last week as trade negotiations unfold.

Prior to Trump, who announced a suspension of tariffs in a country that did not retaliate following Greece’s “liberation day,” Greek Prime Minister Kiliakos Mitotakis told Director Breitbart News Washington in an exclusive interview that he believes the EU and the US can make “mutually beneficial” and “mutually beneficial” transactions.

Trump said he agreed to Mitotakis when Breitbart News asked him what he was saying to the Prime Minister’s comments.

“First of all, I know him, he’s a good guy and I appreciate his comments,” Trump said. “Yeah, there could be trades with all of them. There would be trades with China. There would be trades with all of them and they would be fair. I just want to be fair.

“They’re drying us and you can’t do it. We have $36 trillion in debt for a reason. We don’t have it for fun,” he added. “They have a reason, people have used our country and tore us for decades.”
