Trump devises workaround to deport illegal aliens when home countries refuse to repatriate: Report

The incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly devised a workaround to make home countries reluctant to deport undocumented immigrants.

The Trump administration is currently compiling a list of countries to send illegal aliens to if their country of origin refuses to accept deportation flights from the United States, according to a report Thursday. NBC News.

“President Trump has been given a mandate by the American people.”

Several countries, including Venezuela, China and Cuba, have previously refused to repatriate their citizens who illegally fled to the United States.

People familiar with the incoming administration's strategy told NBC News that illegal aliens could be sent to other countries for deportation.

The list reportedly includes the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Bahamas, Panama and Grenada, with more likely to be added.

Officials told media outlets that the incoming administration is already in contact with government officials from the countries on the list to negotiate arrangements for deportation flights.

NBC News noted that it remains unclear whether deported migrants will be given legal permission to live and work in their destination countries.

“President Trump will stop illegal immigration, secure our borders, and deport dangerous criminals and terrorists who undermine the safety of our communities,” Trump administration spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt told NBC News. “I have been given the mission of the American people.” I will deliver it. ”

A Panamanian government spokesperson told the media: “The Panamanian government does not respond to speculation or rumors. We cannot speculate in this regard. We hope to engage the new US administration once it takes office.” Ta.

The president of Mexico and the prime minister of the Bahamas told the media that they do not want to accept illegal immigrants.

Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum said: “Obviously we stand in solidarity with all people, but our main role is to receive Mexicans, and in case these deportations occur. “We would also like to make an agreement with the Trump administration to be able to send Mexicans there.” They come to their home country from other countries. ”

Philip Davis, a spokesperson for the Bahamas Office of the Prime Minister, told NBC News that the government had presented the idea, but the Bahamas “categorically rejected it.”

“The Bahamas does not have the resources to meet such a request. The Prime Minister… will remain.”[s] The focus was on addressing the concerns of the Bahamian people. Since the Prime Minister rejected this proposal, there has been no further engagement or discussion with the Trump transition team or other organizations on this issue. “The Government of the Bahamas remains steadfast in its position,” the spokesperson said.
