Trump ‘Doesn’t Give a Rat’s Ass About Law Enforcement’

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Wednesday on MSNBC's “The Last Word” that President Donald Trump is not “completely indifferent when it comes to law enforcement.”

Schiff said, “The people he just pardoned were beating police officers to the brink of death. They were wearing bear spray. They were gouging them. They were playing baseball. They were hitting them with bats and hockey sticks. These are the people that Donald Trump just pardoned. So one thing is abundantly clear: He doesn't say anything about law enforcement. It’s obvious.”

“But in the end, granting amnesty to these violent criminals essentially means that you are giving a pardon to people who are committing violence on your behalf, on behalf of your ally, Donald Trump.” I am telling you that if you behave, I will forgive you.”

Schiff added: “It would be difficult to find a step in a country that has transitioned from democracy to dictatorship that essentially pardons those who commit violence on behalf of a would-be dictator.” It doesn't mean becoming a dictatorship. But that means we have taken a tragic step in that direction. ”
