Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) said Sunday on NBC's “Meet the Press” that former President Donald Trump doesn't want to solve the immigration issue.
Rather, he “just wants to talk about the issues,” according to the Arizona Democratic Party.
“A few days ago, I was at the border with the vice president, and I was really happy that she was there, and it was a good trip. She met with elected leaders and talked about these issues,” Kelly said. We talked specifically about how that impacts Arizona. Hey, she's a prosecutor, she's a border senator, she's a border attorney general. How she deals with these issues. I know that the White House was forced to take these executive actions because Donald Trump told Senate Republicans that they would not be allowed to make a deal with Democrats. We actually came to an agreement, but then he said we need to get out of this because Donald Trump doesn't want to solve this problem. He just wants to talk about it. It is.”
He added: She was ready to deal with this problem from day one. She said she plans to sign the bill into law. It's up to us in the Senate, myself, Senator Rubio, and others, to withdraw this bill and send it to her desk. ”
