Trump Downplaying Kamala’s Diplomatic Prowess a ‘Dog Whistle’

Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) said on CNN’s “News Central” on Wednesday that former President Donald Trump was using a dog whistle to say foreign leaders would stomp on Kamala Harris if she became president.

“Former President Trump made comments in an interview with Fox that he thought might offend some people, attacking the vice president. Listen to what he said,” host John Berman said.

“People are going to look at her and say I can’t believe we’ve been so lucky. They’re going to stomp on her. I don’t want to say why, but a lot of people understand that,” Trump said on Fox News.

“So he’s saying that foreign leaders will think they can trample over her. I don’t want to say why, but people get it. What do you think he means?” Berman said.

“Yes, the dog whistles, the slang and the code words are in full swing. He’s reportedly been told in speeches to Republican caucuses not to talk too much about race and gender to his constituents. But you can’t rein Trump in with that sort of thing,” Quigley said.

He added: “The fact is that foreign leaders are watching this race and feel that our voters have a clear choice and that the fate of our country and of democracy around the world hangs in the balance in this race.”
