Trump Urges Republicans to Abolish Filibuster and Pass SAVE America Act
During a recent announcement, President Donald Trump provided a strong message to Republican leaders, suggesting that their political futures hinge on the elimination of the Senate filibuster and the enactment of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump deemed this issue crucial for the party’s success.
“There is nothing Americans can’t do except get Voter ID, Proof of Citizenship, or, most importantly, TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER (which the Democrats will do immediately upon gaining Office, and add 2 more States, 4 more Senators, 8 more Congressmen, at least 20 Electoral Votes, and it will be impossible for a Republican to ever be elected President again. I don’t want to be the last Republican President!),” the president stated.
“GET SMART REPUBLICANS, IF YOU DON’T, YOU WON’T BE IN OFFICE FOR LONG!” he emphasized.
Trump has been a vocal advocate for the SAVE America Act, which seeks to mandate voter ID and proof of citizenship for participation in federal elections. He argues that this would be essential for securing the integrity of elections. However, the act has encountered significant challenges in the Senate, primarily due to the filibuster, which has stalled progress despite the Republicans holding a slender majority.
In his address on July 4th, Trump reaffirmed his commitment to the act, eliciting cheers from a crowd exceeding one hundred thousand individuals. This was marked by a remarkable fireworks display lasting 40 minutes.
“And we want to keep America great. And we will do so by approving the SAVE America Act, which means all voters must show voter ID,” he stated during his National Mall speech. “All voters must provide a little thing called proof of citizenship, and there will be no mail-in ballots except for illness, disability, military deployment, or travel.”
“And you won’t have cheating on the elections anymore. It’s very simple,” he concluded.
