Trump Pushes for Release of Epstein Files

Former President Trump is urging House Republicans to support the release of documents connected to the notorious financier Jeffrey Epstein. He claims he has “nothing to hide” and suggests that Democrats are using this situation as a diversion from the successes of the Republican Party.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump labeled the situation as a “Democrat hoax by radical left-wing lunatics” and called for Republicans in the House to back the release of the Epstein files.

“As I told the media on Air Force One, we should vote to release the Epstein files. We have nothing to hide. It’s high time to move on from these Democratic hoaxes that aim to distract from our achievements, like the recent ‘shutdown’ victory,” he stated.

He referenced that the Department of Justice (DOJ) had already made available thousands of pages of documents related to Epstein. Furthermore, Trump pointed out ongoing investigations into Epstein’s connections to figures like former President Bill Clinton and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.

Trump emphasized, “The House Oversight Committee can have whatever it’s entitled to, I don’t mind! What I care about is the Republican Party winning back the economy, addressing affordability—which, by the way, we are doing well in!—and bringing inflation down from sky-high rates to nearly zero.” He went on to mention lowering prices, tax cuts, military rebuilding, and securing borders, along with other contentious issues.

Additionally, he claimed that if Democrats had any substantial evidence against him, it would have been revealed before last year’s presidential election. “When Epstein was alive, no one seemed to care, and if Democrats had something, they would have dropped it before a landslide victory,” he noted. Trump feels that some Republicans are being “used” in this situation and believes it’s crucial to highlight the accomplishments of the party rather than get tangled in what he views as a Democratic conundrum.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Friday that the Justice Department is set to investigate certain Democrats in light of newly surfaced emails connecting them to Epstein.

Bondi stated that Jay Clayton, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, will lead this investigation, emphasizing his competence. “The State Department will approach this matter with urgency and integrity to provide answers to the American people,” she affirmed.
