The Pine Tree State’s 2nd District is one of many districts won by President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, but is now represented by a Democrat.

playing cards Said “We are working hard to secure our borders, protect the Second Amendment, which is under siege, stop crime, lower taxes, and support our brave law enforcement, military and veterans,” said Theriault, a former NASCAR driver. “I will work hard.”
President Trump added: “This is about fighting for Maine people who don’t have a voice. I’m excited to join forces with another proven champion to save America.”
Theriault, now a state representative, said he plans to: represent People who feel like the political class no longer represents them. This area is the second most rural in America, with well over 70% rural.

“This is a Trump district. It’s a very rural district. It’s a district that has been hit hard over the past few decades by unfair trade policies. People feel like they don’t have a chance anymore. “We feel that the elite political class no longer cares about us, and that’s why I’m running,” he explained.

“Whether it’s at the state capitol in Augusta or in Washington, D.C., there just doesn’t seem to be any respect for hardworking Americans, especially in D.C.,” Tello continued.
Theriault noted that Golden has voted for spending bills and other bills that have led to historic levels of inflation and curbed the Second Amendment rights of Maine residents.
“He has voted in favor of trillions of dollars in spending that has sent inflation out of control. “I’m giving a vote of confidence,” he said, referring to the bill, which was aimed at curbing inflation and which most Democrats later acknowledged was the equivalent of a climate change bill.

Theriault said he plans to mobilize Pine Tree State residents who believe in the Second Amendment, noting that the Golden State voted in favor of gun control legislation.
In late 2023, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) praised Golden for supporting a ban on “assault rifles” in the wake of the Maine mass shooting.
Ocasio-Cortez praised Golden’s comments, calling them “powerful, brave and moving.”
