On Monday, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance posted on X to congratulate Miller.

“This is another great selection by the president,” Vance wrote.

During President Trump's first term, Miller was one of his advisers, helping craft the president-elect's tough speeches and plans to combat illegal immigration. He specifically served as President Trump's senior policy advisor and White House speechwriting director.

After Trump left office, Miller served as president of America First Legal, an organization of former Republican advisers formed as a kind of conservative version of the American Civil Liberties Union.

The organization takes on the Biden-Harris administration, “legacy” media companies, propaganda universities and other groups on issues such as free speech, religion and national security.

Miller was a frequent attendee during Trump's campaign, traveling by plane and often speaking before Trump at pre-shows of rallies.
