Trump Diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency

WASHINGTON – President Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting blood circulation, following reports of mild swelling in his lower legs, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced on Thursday.

Leavitt made the announcement to address speculation regarding recent bruises found on Trump’s hands. She mentioned they were attributed to “frequent manual minor soft tissue stimulation and aspirin use” for heart health precautions.

“In my quest for transparency, the President has asked me to share a note from his doctor,” Leavitt stated.

She continued, “Recently, President Trump noted mild swelling in his lower extremities, which has been monitored as part of his daily medical care. This concern was thoroughly reviewed by the White House medical team,” Leavitt read from the note.

“The president has had a thorough examination, which included diagnostic vascular studies, bilateral lower extremities assessments, and venous Doppler ultrasound, confirming chronic venous insufficiency, particularly common in individuals over 70,” she explained.

Leavitt also clarified, “There was no indication of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease. An echocardiogram was conducted to verify normal heart structure and function, revealing no signs of heart failure, kidney issues, or systemic disease.”

Details on how Trump, who is 79, will manage his condition are not available at this time.

She acknowledged, “Recent photos of the president depict minor bruises on the back of his hands.”

Leavitt explained, “This is associated with mild soft tissue stimulation from frequent handshakes and aspirin usage, which is part of standard preventive cardiovascular therapy. It’s a well-known minor side effect of aspirin that the president experiences regularly.”
