Fans roasted Rihanna on her Instagram page Monday after the artist endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in an odd social media post.
“When protecting pussies and firing pussies can happen all in one vote #votecauseicant #TanSuitSeason,” she captioned the post, which featured a video of the singer looking out the window of a moving car. Sporting black sunglasses, Rihanna joked about “sneaking into the polls with my son’s passport.” The post quickly drew a wave of criticism, with fans taking to the comments to mock her endorsement.
Rihanna expressed her feelings about former President Donald Trump to her 150 million followers, but not all supported her views or choice of words. The star has never become a U.S. citizen, and her remark about sneaking into the polls received considerable pushback.
“Illegal voting is a crime. Maybe she should be arrested for trying,” one user wrote.
“You can’t vote if you’re not a citizen,” another user added. “She clearly doesn’t want to be one or she would have done it by now. And she she is free to live that way if she wants to. 🤷🏽♀️”
“I voted for closed borders, deportations, and staying out of foreign conflicts. 🤷🏽♂️ abortions are probably nowhere near as important as y’all are making it seem,” another user wrote.

Meanwhile, another user chimed in to lecture Rihanna, suggesting her perspective was skewed.
“Wanting to secure the border is akin to shutting the door to your home. It’s not even a locked door, it’s simply shut. All you gotta do is open it & walk in,” the user wrote. “There is a right & a wrong way to come inside. The people who are against having a secure border are essentially saying it’s okay to break a window & enter in that way.”
“This is exactly why celebrities shouldn’t be posting their political opinions. How’re you gonna misguide your fans? Stick to music sis,” the user continued.
“I’d rather protect women’s right by not allowing males to play in women’s sports and keeping men out of women’s lock rooms over the right to unalive babies,” another user added. “Guess we just have different priorities.” (RELATED: ‘I Never Went To A Diddy Party’: NASCAR Star Danica Patrick Slams Kamala Harris Celebrity Endorsements)
Americans who have not yet cast their ballots can still head to the polls today.
