Trump ‘Flouts the Law,’ ‘Just Got Caught’

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that former President Donald Trump was caught ignoring the law.

Host Dana Bash said, “I want to talk a little bit about what Vice President Kamala Harris said last night in your state, Detroit, when she spoke. She said, ‘Donald Trump thinks he’s above the law, but that should be a disqualification for anyone who wants to be president of the United States.’ What do you think?”

“I think we know for a fact that in this democracy, no one is above the law. Everyone is accountable. We have a judicial system that we have to trust. And when we take an oath of office, we expect our leaders to uphold that oath. And this former president is a convicted felon. Unfortunately, for the Republican Party, he’s the standard-bearer at this point. This is a very important election between someone who was above the law, who was caught cheating, and someone who has been focused on serving the public his whole life. He’s served the American people. And we have a tough decision to make. I really think people need to take this moment very seriously and go vote, because this is very important,” Whitmer said.
