Former President Trump is trying to capitalize on reports that President Biden called him a “sick man” behind closed doors.
In a fundraising email late Friday, Trump told supporters: “He doesn’t just think that about me, he thinks that about all of my proud supporters.”
Biden also reportedly said, “This guy is so bad.” politikowho first reported the comment on Thursday.
In his speech, Trump said former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “called us deplorables,” Biden “spit on us,” and called his supporters “every curse word in the dictionary.” He said he would call it that.
“And I know that with your patriotic support in this moment, we can stop him!” Trump, the current Republican front-runner for president, said in an email. Ta. “Before the day is over, I call on every patriot reading this message to join me in saying I love President Trump.”
Trump signed the email, Highlighted by Mediaitetold voters that if they supported him now, “we’ll be the ones laughing on Election Day.”
The Politico report noted that Biden has a reputation for using harsh language behind closed doors. But at a campaign event in Valley Forge to commemorate the third anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, the president nearly made a gaffe, stopping himself by saying, “That’s awful.”
Trump’s email is the latest in his fundraising efforts. He has also attempted to take advantage of the state’s efforts to strip him of his criminal charges, his primary election ballot and even his Georgia mugshot.
The email came days after it was reported through federal election filings that Trump’s fundraising committee spent nearly $30 million on the former president’s legal fees in the second half of 2023.
