Trump Returns to UFC in New Jersey
Former President Donald Trump made a notable appearance at the UFC event held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, where he received an enthusiastic greeting from a full house.
The crowd erupted with cheers as Trump, alongside UFC CEO Dana White, entered the venue ahead of the UFC 316 main card. He even shared his trademark dance while walking through the arena, connecting with the fans as he made his way to his ringside seat.
Interestingly, this event echoed the warm reception he got during UFC 314 at the Caseyya Center in Miami, where he was accompanied by family members, including his granddaughter, Kai Trump, and FBI Director Kash Patel.
Joining him in New Jersey were Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ivanka Trump, though not all previous attendees were in attendance this time around.
During the Miami event, Trump was seen with Elon Musk, but their ongoing public back-and-forth over the past month kept Musk absent this time. Reportedly, the tension stems from Musk’s recent comments about Trump on social media, as aptly reported by Fox News’ senior White House correspondent, Peter Doocy.
The discourse has sparked reactions from various figures, including boxer Jake Paul, who commented on the situation among Republican leaders. “There are egos involved, and it’s disheartening sometimes to see these so-called leaders squabbling,” he noted.
Interestingly, Logan Paul, Jake’s brother and a WWE star, even hinted at a potential showdown between Trump and Musk, perhaps taking a jab at their ongoing feud.
Earlier on the day of the fights, Trump was reportedly at a golf course in Bedminster. He also took a moment to endorse Republican candidate Jack Chattarelli in New Jersey’s primary elections. “It’s crucial for New Jersey to make a strong choice this Tuesday. Let’s support Jack Chattarelli,” he stated.
As the fights commenced, Kevin Holland from California achieved a victory over Brazil’s Vicente Luque with a submission. Afterward, Holland leaped out of the octagon to congratulate Trump, sharing a brief exchange.
The main bout of UFC 316 featured a rematch between Merab Dvalishvili and “Suga” Sean O’Malley, with O’Malley previously victorious by decision in their first encounter.
