Donald Trump has the support of more than 200 retired DHS employees.
“America's borders have never been more secure than they were during the Trump administration,” they wrote in the letter.

More than 200 retired Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees have endorsed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in an open letter, urging all Americans to support him. They argued that President Trump believes in “ensuring the safety and security of the United States” and that the Biden-Harris administration is increasing the number of illegal immigrants.
The letter notes that President Trump put in place border security measures, both of which were effective, but those measures have only been “systematically dismantled” by the Biden-Harris administration, and that border security measures against illegal immigrants have been “systematically dismantled.” He claimed that immediate action was taken to alleviate the situation. The letter was signed by Tom Homan, former director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Rodney Scott, former director of Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Officials noted that if the U.S. abandons national security, other issues will come into play, saying, “The single most important factor in evaluating candidates is ensuring the safety and security of the United States.'' Among the myriad issues to consider, each one hinges on national security. National security has many facets, but there is no national security without enforceable borders. There's no need to guess what each candidate will do in this election. If you look at their records, you'll see that both candidates have very distinct, but clearly different, track records. .”
“President Trump respected the experience of border security experts and listened to our advice,” the letter added. “When border security experts explained to President Trump that illegal immigrants are giving cartels the power to control who and what enters their homes, President Trump listened and acted.”
“The Trump Administration supports policies and programs that reduce illegal immigration, instill integrity in our nation's legal immigration system, and is committed to giving the U.S. government control over who and what enters our country. “The United States' borders were never as secure as they were during the Trump administration,” the letter continued.
