Trump Has Displayed ‘Constant Overt Racism’

Liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “All In” that he believes former President Donald Trump has “always demonstrated blatant racism” throughout his life.

“It’s been a long road for Donald Trump, honestly, because now he has to face not only his opponent, but all of this, which I saw today, where Harris is saying he didn’t know if she was black,” Moore said of Kamala Harris.

He continues, “When he was in his 20s, he and his father were first indicted by the United States Department of Justice. They owned between 7,000 and 8,000 apartments in New York City, and it was a policy that any time a black family came to rent an apartment, the clerks would put a C on top, in the parlance of the time. This was Nixon and Ford’s Department of Justice, and they started an investigation and discovered that of his 7,000 apartments in New York City, most of which were in Brooklyn and Queens, out of those 7,000, he only rented a total of seven to black families during those years.”

Moore added: “When you look at Donald Trump’s entire history from that moment when he was 26, 27 years old, to calling for the execution of five innocent black men in New York City, five in Central Park, five people who were exonerated, to starting and really initiating and galvanizing the birther movement as early as 2011, in 2012 he had one of the most popular TV shows of the time, and the network that aired it didn’t fire him for this racism, this constant, overt racism. They ended up firing him in 2015, days after he came down the golden escalator, announced he was running for president, and then called Mexicans murderers and rapists.”
