Trump Has Elevated It to a New and Risky Stage

Former President Barack Obama has expressed concerns about cancellation culture following the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s show after controversial remarks related to Charlie Kirk’s tragic death.

“After years of discussing cancellation culture, the current administration seems to have escalated this issue by frequently threatening media companies with regulatory actions.

He remarked, “This resembles government enforcement that impedes the First Amendment, and media organizations ought to resist instead of capitulating to it.”

Kimmel faced backlash this week after making controversial statements following Kirk’s shocking public murder. In his Monday monologue, he suggested that Kirk’s assassin might be connected to the “Maga Gang.”

“We’re hitting some unsettling lows, and the narrative around this individual trying to harm Charlie Kirk seems to be aimed at politicizing the situation,” Kimmel remarked. I maintained.

As reported by various sources:

FCC Chairman Brendan Kerr labeled Kimmel’s remarks as “disturbing,” cautioning that ABC and Disney might face repercussions, which could include actions against broadcast licenses. He emphasized the station’s duty to avoid misleading the public and indicated that a suspension was one potential outcome.

President of Nexstar, Andrew Alford noted Kimmel’s comments were “aggressive and insensitive during a pivotal moment in our national political dialogue,” stating he could initially fill in for the show until “cooler heads prevail.”

Moreover, the family of the alleged shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, indicated that Robinson, who had ties to his transgender roommate, held a dislike for Kirk and had left-leaning views. Relatives mentioned that transgender partners often “dislike conservatives and Christians.”

Kimmel reportedly did not apologize for his comments on-air, leading to ABC and Disney suspending the late-night program “indefinitely.”

“Great news for America: The calls to cancel the Jimmy Kimmel show will be successful. Kudos to ABC for demonstrating the necessary courage,” President Donald Trump stated in response.

“Kimmel lacks talent and somehow has even worse ratings than Colbert. That really leaves two complete failures on fake News NBC, Jimmy and Seth, whose ratings are also alarming.”

Donald Trump Jr. responded to the left’s pushback, noting that many on the left are facing job losses due to this “results culture.”
