Trump hits Harris over 'worst jobs report in the history of our country'

Former President Trump on Friday slammed the Department of Labor's jobs report during a rally in Michigan, calling it “the worst jobs report in the history of our country.”

“We have the latest news, and it’s actually bad news. If you happen to come into conflict with the idiots who made this news, there can only be one good thing. Bad news for this country that just came out a while ago. Bad news: The brand new jobs numbers prove conclusively that Kamala Harris and Bad Joe have driven our economy off a cliff,” President Trump told supporters in Warren, Michigan.

“And even if she is given four more years, your family will never be, you will never recover from these stupid people,” he added.

Only 12,000 jobs were created in October, according to Labor Department data, and the unemployment rate remains stagnant at 4.1%, providing lackluster numbers for the Biden administration just days before Election Day. Ta.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics noted that hurricanes that have made landfall in the Southeast in recent weeks have affected employment statistics. The administration also notes that the Boeing strike affected these numbers.

“We know that two powerful factors had a negative and temporary effect on salary growth. Of course, they were the real hurricanes that hit the southeastern United States and much of the region; ,” Jared Bernstein, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, said in an interview with CNBC on Friday.

“And given these factors, the underlying pace of growth in salaried employment remains healthy, probably in the 150,000 range. That's enough to keep the unemployment rate stable.”

At the same time, data released this week by the Department of Commerce revealed that the country's gross domestic product grew at an annual rate of 2.8% from July to September, pointing to several strong economic indicators.

But President Trump still criticized the jobs report, calling the 12,000 number “pathetic” and claiming, “I've never heard of 12,000 jobs.”

“Just think about it, this is not good news for them,” Trump said of Democrats. “I mean, we have an election in four days, and we just came out with what is practically the worst jobs report in the history of our country, so how do you feel?”

The biggest issue facing voters in this presidential election is seen to be primarily the economy.
