Trump holds news conference after decisions in two major NYC cases

Former President Trump spoke at a news conference in downtown Manhattan on Monday afternoon, shortly after the New York Court of Appeals cut the bond he must pay in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ case by more than half and set a trial date for the case. is scheduled to open. The deadline for Trump to enter his initial $464 million judgment set by Judge Arthur Engoron is 11:59 p.m. Monday, after a months-long non-jury civil fraud trial. handed down the verdict.

Mr. Bragg indicted Mr. Trump on 34 counts of first-degree falsification of business records. Mr. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Bragg alleged that Trump “repeatedly fraudulently falsified New York business records to cover up his criminal conduct in concealing information harmful to voters during the 2016 presidential election.”

The charges are related to allegations of hush money payments made during the 2016 presidential campaign.

In 2019, federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York chose not to indict Trump in connection with payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal.
