President Donald Trump paid tribute to the 13 U.S. soldiers killed three years ago during President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, but ignored the anniversary on the major network morning shows.
Monday, August 26, 2024, marked the third anniversary of the day a suicide bomber affiliated with the local affiliate of the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) killed 13 American service members and injured dozens at Kabul’s airport, as well as killing about 170 local civilians as they tried to flee the country.
President Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery and laid a wreath next to Marine Corporal Kelsey Reinhart, who was left partially paralyzed in the blast.

Good Morning America, CBS MorningNBC today Regarding the sacrifices of brave Americans guarding Abbey Gate, television networks have shamefully followed the pattern of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and maintained radio silence (apart from written statements released by their representatives).
In contrast, cable news programs broadcast in the same time slot, Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” and Fox News Channel’s “ Fox & FriendsNewsmax Wake Up AmericaNewsNation American Morningand even CNN News Central — They all mentioned it multiple times.
Both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris issued statements but did not visit Arlington.
