Trump II: This time it’s personnel

On X, an NBC News reporter described the “overall atmosphere” surrounding President Donald Trump's cabinet appointments as “what a mess” regarding the appointment of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) as attorney general. , I saw you gasp, “Oh my god.” ”

I can't say I don't share that last sentiment, at least to some degree. Gaetz, who heads the Justice Department, is perhaps the biggest middle finger in U.S. presidential nomination history, and his confirmation by the Republican-controlled Senate is by no means certain.

I prefer Trump's way of doing something to the traditional way of doing nothing. Let the past die. To the future.

But when it comes to Gates, or any of Trump's other appointments for that matter, my position is this. Mr. Trump has won one of the most remarkable political victories in this country's history. Therefore, the spoils go to the winners.

I got into this business because I believed there was a conservative movement and that I could help tip the scales against the establishment. But instead all I found was the misfortune of selling books and conference tickets with no intention of actually accomplishing anything. Case in point: Earlier this week, some of the most prominent conservative influencers announced their endorsement of Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader, but he was rejected on the first vote.

look? Ours is terrible. It is no coincidence that we have lost our culture over the past 30 years. For decades, we had no organized opposition to the American left. Frankly, it is truly a miracle that we are not already like Western Europe, especially considering the current state of our church, which has fallen into a metrosexual phase. And the fact that Rick Scott is our best option only emphasizes the absence of a true conservative movement.

We left a big void, and Trump filled it. He's the king now.

To face this reality, some may find it helpful to watch The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever. It's a story about a sleepy church where the women are cat lovers and the men are staring at the clock waiting for the game to start. So God sends the Herdsmen, a group of wayward children, to shake things up and restore purpose and passion to the spiritual void.

What I see now is that Mr. Trump is the political version of the Hardmans. And it took me a very long time to figure that out. Ironically, of the people you now know as Trump's aides and promoters, I was actually offered the keys to that kingdom before most of them became involved.

But I turned it down. I missed it. He also believed that nothing good could come from Nazareth. I thought I was protecting my integrity and that there wasn't a movement that I wasn't already sold on. But it doesn't exist. That's why Trump is back, and it looks like he's stronger than ever.

When President Trump packed up in 2020 due to the coronavirus and endless legislation, his defection and subsequent Democratic Party insanity seemed, in hindsight, to be the orthodoxy of a conservative movement with red states leading the way. It was her last chance to establish her sexuality. But in 2022, there was no red wave. It wasn't even close to that.

This time, listen now. There is no conservative movement.

There are only two and a half governors who stand out: Ron DeSantis, Kim Reynolds, and maybe half the time, Brian Kemp. They lead a base so unmotivated that their children are deported right in front of them, and if they don't get the mandatory poison injections, they lose their jobs. But even these problems were not enough to convince the country to expel Democrats from Congress two years ago.

This conservative movement is like the first five minutes of a “Star Trek” episode where the red-shirted crew members beam down to the planet. It definitely won't be back. You're dead, Jim. That's who we are.

We have one resistance movement and that is Trump. If he fails, I honestly don't know where we'll go from here. So let's see what the Hardman family can do. I have to say, I'm as optimistic as ever right now. That doesn't mean I agree with everything right away, but for the first time in years I've seen an aggressive plan from the right.

Yes, the actual plan is being efficiently executed and is in clear contrast to the country's current direction. It's not something you're used to and it can be uncomfortable at times. There will also almost certainly be aisle 12 cleaning along the way. But doesn't everything feel more alive than it did just a few weeks ago?

I'll take it. I prefer Trump's way of doing something to the traditional way of doing nothing. Let the past die. To the future.
