Disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s Mother
President Donald Trump shared a heartfelt video on Wednesday featuring NBC correspondent Savannah Guthrie’s family, who are urgently seeking her mother’s return after her mysterious disappearance.
The president mentioned that he had been in touch with Guthrie and her family, stating that he had ordered all federal law enforcement agencies to take action in the search efforts.
“I have communicated with Savannah Guthrie and let her know that I am directing all federal law enforcement entities to immediately support her family and local police,” he said. “We are allocating every possible resource to ensure her mother returns home safely. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. God bless Nancy!”
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing from her Arizona residence on Sunday, in what police are treating as a kidnapping case. Authorities found bloodstains at the location. Reports indicate that the kidnappers have made a ransom demand for “millions of dollars in Bitcoin.”
According to a Tuesday report, the criminals asked for cryptocurrency to be sent to a verified Bitcoin account to secure Nancy Guthrie’s release. This information was acknowledged by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, which confirmed it was aware of the ransom note.
Subsequent reports suggested that police were considering Guthrie’s son-in-law as a possible suspect. However, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office clarified in their statement that they had not yet identified any suspects or persons of interest in the case.
The statement read, “No suspects or persons of interest in this case have been identified. Detectives are continuing to interview anyone who may have interacted with Mrs. Guthrie, and we await further forensic results.”
On the same day, Savannah and her family stood before cameras, deeply urging those responsible to release their cherished family member.
“We’re doing our best,” she said. “But we live in a world where images and voices can be easily distorted. It’s critical for us to know that she is alive and safe. Please, we are ready to hear from you.”
Describing her mother, Guthrie stated, “She is a kind, loyal, faithful woman with a fierce love for her family. She has grandchildren who adore her.” She continued, “She loves fun and adventure, is a devoted friend, and full of wisdom. If you speak with her, you’ll understand all this.”
