Trump intends to be at Game 3 at MSG as the Knicks hold their first NBA Finals game in 27 years.

In an exciting development, a presidential guest will be attending the NBA Finals, which are set to take place in New York for the first time in nearly three decades.

President Donald Trump is expected to be present at Game 3 of the Knicks versus Spurs series at Madison Square Garden on June 8, although plans can change, according to unofficial sources.

In preparation for his visit, officials revealed that a security walkthrough has been conducted at MSG.

New York City Mayor Zoran Mamdani, known for his dedication to the Knicks, is also planning to attend Game 3, but he will not accompany the president, as per officials.

The White House has not yet responded to inquiries for comments regarding the visit.

President Trump has previously mentioned his intention to attend any NBA Finals games held in New York. Game 3 is slated for June 8, with Games 4 and 6 on June 10 and June 16, respectively.

The New York native was set to watch Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, but the Knicks managed to beat the Cavaliers in four games, marking their first Finals appearance since 1999.

“I had an invitation and was planning to go on Wednesday,” Trump remarked to The Post’s Emily Goodin on May 27, referring to Game 5. “But they wrapped it up quickly. They’re fantastic, and Jim Dolan is wonderful too. He’s having quite a year.”

“What a team! They’re winning all their games. They’ve got some great players. I’m thinking I’ll definitely go to one of the games. Many people have invited me to different venues, which I think is fantastic. The Knicks have really faced challenges for years, but they’re doing so well now.”

Throughout his presidency, Trump has attended several significant sporting events, including the 2025 Super Bowl between the Eagles and the Chiefs in New Orleans, as well as the men’s U.S. Open final in Queens that same year.
