Trump Accuses Iran of Military Neglect Amid Humanitarian Crisis

President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran is neglecting to pay large portions of its military while simultaneously carrying out deadly actions against protesters. This statement reflects the ongoing economic offensive the U.S. has against the Islamic Republic.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump pointed to a troubling trend regarding the treatment of Iranian protesters, suggesting that the scale of violence has reached a level that resembles a significant “humanitarian crisis.”

“The failing Islamic Republic of Iran is not paying large segments of their military, while at the same time killing protesters, even when they are not protesting, at levels not seen before,” Trump stated.

“It is a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions, and must be stopped,” he added.

The conflict between the U.S. and Iran has seen a noticeable shift from military engagements to economic strategies. The U.S. has implemented a naval blockade on Iranian ports and rolled out extensive sanctions designed to isolate Iran further.

During a press conference, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent introduced “Operation Economic Outcast,” which aims to impose sanctions on any entities cooperating financially with Iran, thus seeking to cut Tehran off from the global community. While specific countries were not named, Bessent emphasized that no organization would be exempt from these economic measures.

It’s worth noting that reports indicate China has been a significant trading partner for Iran’s oil, raising concerns that these sanctions might complicate the already fragile U.S-China relationship.

Trump’s comments about a humanitarian crisis followed closely on the heels of the execution of Majid Adineh, which occurred just two days prior. Adineh was purportedly accused of espionage for the U.S. and Israel and became the 29th person to be executed in connection with the nationwide protests since March 19th, according to the Iran Human Rights organization based in Oslo.
