ABC News legal analyst Sunny Hostin argued Tuesday on ABC's “The View” that President Donald Trump “has been given everything he's got.”
Therefore, according to Hostin, Trump is an “embracer of DEI.”

She continued, “I thought about the hypocrisy of a man becoming president on the same day we commemorate MLK, and that same man saying he was going to get rid of diversity, equity, and inclusion.” It was.”
Hostin added, “Ironically, Martin Luther King, Jr. didn't just want racial equality, he also wanted economic equality. That's something that people often miss. I remind people… I'd like to know if he's a black American. They are entitled to reparations for the injustices they face, arguing that reparations are a form of justice, not charity, and that “telling people to exalt themselves by their own justice is wrong.'' I want you to remember that I said, “It's okay.” But telling someone who isn't wearing boots that they should lift themselves up by their own boot straps is a cruel joke. With that in mind, when Donald Trump says that this country will become a meritocracy, he is talking about a man who did not become president of the United States on merit. He didn't have any political experience, nor did he have any business experience. He was given everything he had. He is a legacy hire. If anything, he is a DEI employee, not something he gets hired for. So these are just some of the things I was thinking about. ”
