Grammer Praises Trump at Kennedy Center Honors

During the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony on Saturday, actor Kelsey Grammer expressed his admiration for President Donald Trump, declaring him to be “one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had,” perhaps even “the greatest,” as his fellow attendees cheered in agreement.

Grammer remarked, “I think he’s an extraordinary person. He’s one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had, maybe the greatest.” This statement came just before the State Department’s Kennedy Center Medal of Honor Dinner.

The Frasier star noted that while Trump has more he wishes to achieve, he faces significant challenges ahead. “Some very interesting things were left to happen,” he added.

Grammer also expressed excitement about honoring Sylvester Stallone at this year’s event. He said, “I was on the selection committee, so I knew that. He is a force of nature. Sylvester Stallone captured our imagination in several different roles and played them beautifully.” He emphasized that it was high time to recognize Stallone’s contributions to film.

Alongside Stallone, the ceremony honored other notable figures, including singer George Strait, performer Gloria Gaynor, actor Michael Crawford, and the rock band KISS. Strait shared that receiving the Kennedy Center Honors was a “tremendous honor.”

In a separate event at the Oval Office, President Trump awarded the Tiffany Medal to the 2025 Kennedy Center honorees, describing them as “amazing people” who exemplify “the best of American arts and culture.”

According to reports, Trump mentioned, “I know most of them, and I’m a fan of all of them.” He also praised the group, saying, “This is probably the most distinguished and prestigious class of Kennedy Center recipients ever assembled.”

The Tiffany Medal features a gold disc hanging from a blue ribbon, showcasing the Kennedy Center statue on one side, with the recipient’s name and ceremony date inscribed on the reverse.
