Trump Is ‘Fostering More Instability Globally’

Rep. Sarah McBride (D-Delaware) said Tuesday on CNN's “The Situation Room” that President-elect Donald Trump's comments about Greenland and Panama are “promoting further instability globally. ” he said.

Host Wolf Blitzer said, “President Trump has said he is open to using the U.S. military to potentially take over the Panama Canal and even Greenland, which is part of Denmark.” People close to Trump say he is thinking about the matter very seriously. What's your reaction to that? ”

“This is a typical rant from the president-elect, and his obsession with Greenland and Panama really came out of nowhere and is full of untruths and misunderstandings,” McBride said. “At a time of global instability. Why is this president so eager to foster further instability globally and weaken our allies? I don't understand why they're trying to do that, and at the same time distract the federal government from issues like the invasion of Greenland and Panama that we face here in this country, our workers, our retirees, our families. The focus should be on reducing costs, and that’s what we should be focusing on.”

McBride added: “If this president is serious about putting America first, he should focus on domestic economic issues rather than his bizarre obsession with invading Greenland or Panama.” added.
