Trump Receives Architect of Peace Award
On October 21, 2025, President Donald Trump was awarded the Richard Nixon Foundation’s Architect of Peace Award in a private ceremony held at the White House. Remarkably, he is the first sitting U.S. president to receive this distinction.
Created in 1995, the award aims to honor individuals who embody President Nixon’s enduring commitment to fostering a more peaceful world.
The ceremony took place in the Oval Office and included notable guests like Tricia Nixon Cox, Nixon’s daughter, and former National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien.
During the event, President Trump also unveiled a portrait of Richard Nixon on a new wall dedicated to presidential leadership. White House aides described the portrait as a representation of shared values and aspirations for a thriving America.
As the first sitting U.S. president to earn this accolade, Trump is the third president overall to receive it. In his speech, he pointed out various foreign policy successes, highlighting the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas as a significant effort in promoting global diplomacy.
The Nixon Foundation selects award recipients based on their contributions to international diplomacy, conflict resolution, and overall global stability.
