Gov. Janet Mills (D-ME) on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday said President Donald Trump was not law and that his administration’s actions were “not reasonable” as he discussed the conflict among trans athletes.
“Very unexpectedly asked the President to answer questions that were unrelated to the topic at hand,” Mills said, “I went to the White House and spoke to President Trump before. The general public, the defense attorney, and now the governor, and I always respect him. I always respect the rule of law, and it moved me to say, ‘I’m the law.’ I know that every fifth grade citizen has three divisions of government, and that the constitution requires the constitution to create laws and reinterpret them in Instagram posts or press releases or executive orders, rather than inventing them.
She continued, “He is not allowed to do that, so when he reinterpreted Title IX, I supported Title IX and spent most of my career defending and protecting women and girls’ rights in employment, housing, credit, etc. Better, or otherwise, we received this letter from the Secretary of Agriculture on April 2. We will fully program the school lunch program in which 172,000 Maine schoolchildren rely on school lunches.”
“The other thing the judge said is, the law, the law, if you can’t take away their funds, if you can’t take away their funds, you sent a letter here about their corrections department, and they found that transgender individuals are there in our prison, so they are in favor of our prison, they are in our prison, so they are in favor of our prison, so they are in our cow inteam, to stop your children being held, to stop them, to stop them being held, to stop them being held, to our children, to our prison, to serve their children, to serve their children, to be honest, isn’t it reasonable?
