President Donald Trump has labeled Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene a “traitor” after she referred to his past behavior as a “dog whistle against dangerous extremists” in a recent post on Truth Social.
In response, Trump stated, “Eccentric Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (keep in mind, Green turns on Brown when ROT is involved!) is trying hard to portray herself as a victim, when, in reality, she’s part of the problem. Honestly, nobody cares about this traitor to our country!”
Trump has consistently criticized Greene in his Truth Social posts, and Greene has defended herself against his claims.
In her rebuttal, Greene expressed concern that Trump’s label could endanger her life. She commented, “Hoax pizza deliveries to my home and family have started. Also, I received a pipe bomb threat directed at a construction company’s office. Trump’s unfounded and aggressive attack is a signal to dangerous extremists, which could result in serious threats against me and my family.”
She continued, asserting, “I am not a traitor. When the President irresponsibly labels members of his party as traitors, it reveals what he might do about them. I fought harder than anyone to help elect Trump and I stand by his administration and promises.”
Trump hinted on Friday that he might back a challenger in Greene’s primary race. He announced on Truth Social, “I withdraw my endorsement and support of Georgia’s ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene.” He seemed to suggest that many conservative voters are dissatisfied with her actions. “If the right candidate steps up, they will have my full backing,” he said.
In another post, he criticized her as a “RINO,” a term that indicates someone is not a true Republican. Later, he called Greene a “disgrace to our great Republican Party!”
